LiveAquaria® Professional Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate) included in this kit is pure sodium carbonate that helps raise and maintain alkalinity (the buffering capacity of water) and pH levels in marine fish-only aquariums and coral reef aquariums. LiveAquaria® Professional Calcium Chloride is pure anhydrous calcium chloride that helps provide the building blocks for healthy invertebrate shell development, coral skeleton formation, as well as maintaining stable pH. Our LiveAquaria® Professional Magnesium Chloride and LiveAquaria® Professional Magnesium Sulfate is pure magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate, respectively, and plays an important role in helping to stabilize the correct combination of calcium, alkalinity, and pH values in the reef aquarium.

General Directions & Dosage
LiveAquaria® Professional Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate)
Do not add LiveAquaria® Professional Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate) directly to your aquarium water. Create a solution at the prescribed dosage detailed below. Always test alkalinity levels prior to use. Alkalinity levels found in natural seawater is between 7-12 dKH. Due to the sensitivity of marine organisms, it is not recommended to raise alkalinity by more than 1 dKH (0.36 meq/l) per 24 hours.

DOSAGE: Add one teaspoon (5 grams) per 65 gallons to raise alkalinity by approximately 1 dKH. Dissolve appropriate amount in RO/DI water, slowly add to a high flow area, ideally into a sump. Monitor pH while dosing. Avoid immediate impact of pH change to more than +/- 0.2. Re-test and repeat dose until desired level is reached.

LiveAquaria® Professional Calcium Chloride
Do not add LiveAquaria® Professional Calcium Chloride directly to your aquarium water. Create a solution at the prescribed dosage detailed below. Always test calcium levels prior to use. Calcium concentration found in natural seawater is between 380-450 ppm. Due to the sensitivity of marine organisms, it is not recommended to raise calcium by more than 20 ppm per 24 hours.

DOSAGE: 1 gram per 10 gallons will raise calcium level approximately 10 ppm. One teaspoon (approximately 5.2 grams) per 10 gallons will raise calcium approximately 50 ppm. Dissolve appropriate amount of calcium chloride in RO/DI or distilled water. It is recommended to dose in partial increments of 1/3 to 1/2 of the total. Wait 24 hours after first partial dose, then check calcium levels and dose another portion.

LiveAquaria® Professional Magnesium Sulfate
Do not add LiveAquaria® Professional Magnesium Sulfate directly to your aquarium water. Create a solution at the prescribed dosage detailed below. Always test magnesium levels prior to use. Magnesium concentration found in natural seawater is between 1250-1350 ppm. Due to the sensitivity of marine organisms, it is not advisable to raise magnesium levels by more than 100 ppm per 24 hours.

DOSAGE: Add one teaspoon (3.5 grams) per 10 gallons to raise magnesium by approximately 10 ppm. Dissolve required amount in RO/DI water and slowly add to a high flow area, ideally into a sump. Re-test and repeat dose until desired level is reached.

LiveAquaria® Professional Magnesium Chloride
Do not add LiveAquaria® Professional Magnesium Chloride directly to your aquarium water. Create a solution at the prescribed dosage detailed below. Always test magnesium levels prior to use. Magnesium concentration found in natural seawater is between 1250-1350 ppm. Due to the sensitivity of marine organisms, it is not advisable to raise magnesium levels by more than 100 ppm per 24 hours.

DOSAGE: Add one teaspoon (4.4 grams) per 10 gallons to raise magnesium by approximately 14 ppm. Dissolve required amount in RO/DI water and slowly add to a high flow area, ideally into a sump. Re-test and repeat dose until desired level is reached.

NOTE: Due to the variation of granular size, conversion between volume and weight of powdered products are approximate; as a precaution, dose less than the calculated amount and measure the effect before adding the total amount.

CAUTION: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash hands after handling. LiveAquaria reg; Professional Calcium Chloride becomes hot when mixed with water, use rubber gloves.
