The Original Red Shortcake Certified Captive Grown Coral frag demonstrates a rich brick red to pale purple coloration and corallites with pale pink to light purple polyps depending on your lighting profile. This intense red coloration is sure to attract attention and compliments to your reef system.

The Original Red Shortcake requires moderate to high aquarium lighting conditions achieved by T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides. To maximize growth rate, maintain high pH, alkalinity and calcium levels, as well as high water quality with phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. Along with proper lighting and water quality, the Original Red Shortcake will benefit from moderate to strong water movement.

The Original Red Shortcake satisfies the majority of its nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. While it may not require additional food to maintain its health in the reef aquarium, the Original Red Shortcake will feed on micro-plankton or foods designed for filter-feeding invertebrates.
