Overview

The Variegated Spider Lily is a stylish plant perfect for brightening up dark corners of your pond or water garden. The beautiful variegation reinforces visually the long, strap-like leaves to enhance your pond design with a graphic vertical element. The deeply grooved leaves that grow up to 18" in length work together with the green and white variegated coloration to break up predictable planting schemes to truly showcase your pond or water garden.

The Variegated Spider Lily also produces fragrant star-shaped blooms that add another layer of interest to this highly desirable pond plant. Flowers typically bloom in spring to early summer on strong, leafless stems. Each stem produces clusters of white spidery flowers, up to 10 flowers per stem, for a showy floral display.

The Variegated Spider Lily should be planted in rich soil in 2-gallon containers, and may have up to 6 inches of pond water over their crown. Once planted, place in sun to partial shade. If planted in moist marshy conditions, it may form a colony with its runners. The Variegated Spider Lily may reach up to 24" high with a spread of 12". Divide clumps after flowering or start from seed in warm water. In northern zones, winter indoors as a houseplant. Zones 7-11.
