Overview

Create a living floral bouquet in your pond or water garden with the hardy Peach Glow Water Lily. The Peach Glow Water Lily is a prolific bloomer producing a profusion of blossoms throughout the course of the pond season - from early summer into late autumn. As a hardy water lily, the Peach Glow Water Lily is a true workhorse that continues to produce blossoms even when most plants are starting to wind down. Perhaps because of its prolonged blooming season, the flowers of the Peach Glow Water Lily demonstrate a high-degree of variation depending on the time of the year.

Flowers produced earlier in the season (as well as later in the season) are often yellowish in coloration. Flowers blooming during the peak of summer demonstrate a rich peach coloration with a lovely orange blush that gives it a glowing appearance. Young or newly established plants produce blossoms that are yellow in coloration and will only produce the namesake peach glow coloration until it has matured after several growing seasons. Interestingly, this hardy water lily produces fragrant goblet-shaped flowers that are held above water, much like a Tropical water lily.

Even when it's not in bloom, the Peach Glow Water Lily provides fantastic visual interest with its ornamental, saucer-like leaves or "pads." The color of the leaves will vary considerably depending on its age but are typically moss-green in coloration with faint mottling. Typical of hardy water lilies, the Peach Glow Water Lily produces round leaves with smooth edges. The leaf spread (or the amount of water surface area covered by the leaves) is approximately 3 to 5 ft providing much needed shade and protection for your pond fish, as well as a potential spawning site for pondlife.

The Peach Glow Water Lily should be potted in a two-gallon or larger planting container. To help your newly potted water lily establish itself faster in your pond, place the water lily at an initial depth of six inches below the water surface. As the water lily grows, it can be gradually lowered to its ideal depth of 12-18 inches below the water surface. To ensure reliable blooms be sure to place your Peach Glow Water Lily in a sunny location where it receives up to six or more hours of direct sunlight. Zones 4-11.

LiveAquaria® offers two groups of Water Lilies: Tropical Water Lilies that thrive in plant hardiness zones 9-11 and Hardy Water Lilies that thrive in plant hardiness zones 4-11. Be sure to select water lily varieties the are hardy to your zone to enjoy long-lasting beauty.
