Overview

The 3-Spot Domino Damselfish—also called the Three Spot Damselfish, Threespot Dascyllus, or simply Domino Damselfish—is easily recognized by its jet-black body accented with three distinctive white spots. As it matures, these spots fade, and its personality intensifies, often becoming bold and territorial. In the presence of a Carpet Anemone (Stichodactyla species), it may even form a symbiotic relationship.

This hardy species thrives in aquariums of 30 gallons or more and is well-suited for beginner marine aquarists due to its tolerance for varying water conditions. With age, its assertive nature makes it best housed with larger, more robust tankmates.

The 3-Spot Domino Damselfish has a broad diet and readily accepts meaty foods, herbivore blends, and quality flake foods.
