Overview

The Wolf Eel is often referred to as a Blenny. However, it is a pseudochromid (Dottyback). Its common names include Carpet Eel Blenny, Eared Eel Blenny, and Green Wolf Eel. Its body is a brownish color with highlights of green.

It requires a 125 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of hiding places. The aquarium should have a tight-fitting lid to prevent escape. The Wolf Eel may be kept in a reef aquarium, but will eat smaller fish and crustaceans.

Its diet should include meaty foods such as small marine fish, chopped clam, and prawns in its diet.

Approximate Purchase Size: Small: 6" to 10"; Medium: 10" to 12"; Large: 12" to 14"; XLarge: 14" and Larger

Customer Testimonials

James G Lindenhurst , IL
This is the best eel!-And not even a true eel (its a blenny). It watches you, swims around and hangs in the tank like a sea dragon. It is coral safe but will eat ALL your cleaning crew. It plucks snails and hermits right out of their shells. Very intelligent, it's one of my favorite fish!
