The Marigold Montipora Coral requires moderate aquarium lighting conditions achieved by T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides. To maximize growth rate, maintain high pH, alkalinity and calcium levels, as well as high water quality with phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. Along with proper lighting and water quality, the Marigold Montipora Coral will benefit from moderate to strong water movement.

A peaceful reef inhabitant, the Marigold Montipora Coral will not bother other neighboring corals. However, be sure to provide ample space between other corals as it can grow quickly under ideal conditions. For its continued optimal health, it requires the addition of calcium, magnesium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.

The Marigold Montipora Coral satisfies the majority of its nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. It will benefit from supplemental feedings in the form of micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.

The Marigold Montipora Coral is mounted on a fired ceramic plug that can be placed easily and securely in or between the rockwork in the reef aquarium.
