Overview

The Oceans, Reefs and Aquariums Acropora Coral Frag Pack is an exquisite aquacultured selection featuring five of ORA’s Acropora coral frags. This striking ensemble of Acropora corals highlight diversity yet shares a soothing and coordinating color palette that adds to a chill and sophisticated reef aquarium landscape.

If you are looking to add diversity and color to your reef aquarium, this is the pack for you! The ORA Acropora Coral 5 Frag Pack bursts with unique coloration, shape, and growth forms. ORA’s professional team hand selects 1 each of the following ORA® Acropora coral frags. (1) Green Planet Acropora, (1) Plum Crazy Acropora, (1) Valida Tricolor Acropora, (1) Borealis Acropora and (1) Ice Acropora coral frags.

These Acropora coral frags will thrive in a variety of lighting conditions, ranging from power compacts, T-5s, powerful LEDs and up to the more intense metal halides. Acropora corals satisfy the majority of their nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. Under the right conditions, the growth rate of the Acropora coral is more rapid than most of the other corals found in an established reef aquarium.

To maximize their growth rate, it is imperative to maintain a high pH, alkalinity and calcium levels, and to keep phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. If conditions are ideal, these corals can also be cultured and grown into a new colony from living fragments or broken pieces.

Along with lighting and water quality, Acropora corals prefer medium to strong, intermittent water flow within the aquarium. This is best accomplished with a wave maker and multiple powerheads. Acropora corals receive a majority of their nutritional requirements from photosynthesis, but will benefit from the addition of zooplankton or foods designed for corals and invertebrates.

These ORA® Acropora coral frags are attached to a plastic plug and can be easily placed in holes or between the rockwork of the reef aquarium.

Approximate Purchase Size: 5 individual corals; 1" to 2"
