Supplements

LiveAquaria® is proud to introduce our line of professional bulk aquarium additives to help ensure ideal water parameters essential for a healthy thriving marine aquarium environment. Discover the many advantages of LiveAquaria® Professional Bulk Reef Supplements!

Smart Savings for Reef Aquarium Success
Corals require a steady supply of calcium, carbonates/bicarbonates, and magnesium to sustain active growth. In a closed aquarium system, these vital elements can be rapidly depleted without hobbyist intervention in the form of regular, routine supplementation. While there are a wide variety of commercially available calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium supplements, purchasing our quality bulk reef supplements has many advantage - including a distinct financial one.

Benefits of LiveAquaria® Bulk Reef Supplements

  • Versatile: Our bulk reef supplements have been carefully selected so hobbyists of all experience levels can maximize their use. Our supplements can be used individually or expanded upon by experienced aquarists to employ an advanced 2-part calcium and alkalinity supplementation program or even a 3-part Balling supplementation program! To address single parameters, use our Professional Calcium Chloride to raise calcium levels in reef aquariums; our Professional Sodium Carbonate and/or Sodium Bicarbonate to maintain ideal alkalinity and pH levels; and finally, our Professional Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium Sulfate to supplement magnesium levels important for coral as well as desirable macroalgae growth.
  • Concentrated: Why pay for water? While prepared reef supplements are extremely convenient, what are you really paying for when you purchase liquid solutions? Our dry bulk reef supplements deliver concentrated results. Just one teaspoon of our bulk Professional Calcium Chloride will produce a 10 gallon solution that will raise calcium levels by 50 ppm.
  • Made in the USA Quality: All of our bulk professional reef supplements are made in the USA to ensure quality you expect and deserve.
  • Smartly Priced: Don't let the cost of routine supplementation eat into your aquarium budget. Unlike other supplementation methods, our bulk reef supplements are designed to minimize costs while maximizing results. For example, setting up a calcium reactor for calcium supplementation can become costly as it requires the purchase of numerous additional equipment and components such as a pH controller and a CO2 system for proper operation. Prepared reef supplements are a smart choice for dosing smaller or midsized aquariums, but costs can quickly add up when dosing multiple aquariums or very large reef aquarium systems.
  • Earn 10% Rewards: When your become a LiveAquaria® Rewards member and schedule our LiveAquaria® Bulk Reef Supplements for Auto Delivery, you earn 10% Reward Points you can use on future purchases! You can redeem your Reward Points as soon as your next order or let them accrue for greater savings.

Advanced Dosing Techniques

  • A 2-part calcium and alkalinity supplementation program can be employed using our Professional Calcium Chloride and your choice between our Professional Sodium Carbonate and Professional Sodium Bicarbonate (or in combination) based on preference and your alkalinity and pH needs. To achieve ideal calcium levels between 400 ppm and 450 ppm, make sure aquarium alkalinity is kept between 8 and 12 dKH to maintain proper calcium and alkalinity balance.
  • A 3-part Balling supplementation program can be employed by adding your choice between our Professional Magnesium Chloride and Professional Magnesium Sulfate (or in combination) to the aforementioned 2-part calcium and alkalinity supplementation program. Maintain magnesium levels between 1,250 and 1,350 ppm in addition to the previously mentioned levels for calcium and alkalinity for proper balance between these three elements.
  • Automate your 2-part or 3-part supplementation program using a peristaltic dosing pump. A dual pump microcomputer-controlled dosing system is perfect for 2-part reef supplementation programs. For a 3-part supplementation program employ a multi-pump system with at least three dosing pumps.

Before beginning any supplementation regimen, always test your aquarium to measure and establish a baseline for the particular element you wish to supplement. Furthermore, continue to test, monitor, and record aquarium parameters before and after supplementation to not only verify proper levels but to develop a strong understanding of how supplementation affects your specific system.
